On June 21st, Maxwell Stern of Signals Midwest released his newest solo single, "You Deserve a Great Love," via Lauren Records. You Deserve a Great Love is the song that inspired Stern to center his full album around, 'In The Good Light'. It came out of a pandemic-induced obsession with Tom Petty, whose therapist once asked him what his song "Wildflowers" was about – when Petty said he didn't know, the therapist offered up the idea that it might be a love song to himself.
Maxwell Stern's full length album, "In The Good Light" will be out August 9th and is available for pre-order here.
"At the time, I really needed to hear that. In my dreams, the Heartbreakers (with their extra horn section!) are backing me up and this makes it onto his Live record from 1985. It's on this album instead, but I think my bandmates did a damn good job of bringing that vision to life.”
