FILM

FILM is composed of singer and bassist Ken Vasoli (The Starting Line, Vacationer), guitarist Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Algernon Cadwallader, Dogs On Acid), and drummer TJ DeBlois (Halfway to Holland, A Life Once Lost). It began as a low-pressure collaboration during the pandemic that took cues from gritty, aggressive-yet-melodic punk and post-hardcore bands like Drive Like Jehu, Mclusky, and Braid. The original intention was to use these demos as a reference, but before they were able to get back into the studio, TJ suddenly passed away in January of 2023 at the age of 38. After taking some time to regroup, Joe and Ken decided to release the recordings they’d already made in TJ’s honor. Their album "Permanence" is a snapshot of a band discovering itself in real time, and a tribute to a drummer whose impact ran deep.
