Formed in 2017, SUPERWORLD spent the past several years writing and recording Super World through a stretch of personal and creative shifts. The album draws from the band's history growing up in the Bay Area - early musical discoveries, evolving tastes, and friendships that go back decades all feed into the record's sound.
“With Super World I think it’s clear we’re all older but our love and connection to San Jose and the Bay Area’s music scene especially is still important to us and will always matter to us as people,” said SUPERWORLD guitarist Dan Vo. “This was not intended at all, but with our previous band Leer's record, Spring Break No Parents, I think we did end up capturing the sounds of our adolescence and the music that surrounded us at the time.”

About SUPERWORLD
San Jose, California's SUPERWORLD (Brandon Holder, Dan Vo, Drew Satterlund, Francisco Duarte, Cameron MacBain) is a hi-energy screamo act whose music is a celebration of their friendship, community, and influences from the greater California music scene. The band has been writing songs and performing sporadically for a number of years before putting out their first full length.
Performed with a trademark looseness of feel, their tracks bridge maximalist aggression with the low-key and melancholy, somehow collaging the careful intricacy and sentimentality of early 2010's math rock with subtle pop sensibilities of classic guitar-driven music from the latter half of the 20th century. SUPERWORLD's tonal unpredictability is neither forced nor abashed, and remains tightly bound by each member's approach to the arrangements as a whole.
