BUBBLE TEA AND CIGARETTES - bluebook EP out now!

The two songs unfold as companion pieces, each tracing a different side of the same romantic unraveling. On "bluebird," BUBBLE TEA AND CIGARETTES begin in near silence: a close, acoustic confession carried by Kat’s hushed vocals. From there, the song slowly opens into one of the duo’s most cinematic arrangements to date, eventually giving way to the sweeping arrival of a 40-piece string orchestra. What begins as something private and fragile becomes vast and enveloping, capturing the shift from quiet longing to emotional release.

“seventeen little stars” tells the other side of the story: an intimate confession from someone willing to lose themselves in the name of love. Built around delicate acoustic guitar and whisper-close vocals, the song feels like a private monologue unfolding in the dark. As its layered harmonies slowly swell, that solitary voice becomes something more overwhelming, mirroring the song’s themes of devotion, self-destruction, and the longing to be truly understood.

Together, “bluebird” and “seventeen little stars” complete a conversation between two lovers, revealing how the same love can feel like both freedom and surrender.

About BUBBLE TEA AND CIGARETTES

New York City duo Bubble Tea and Cigarettes crafts a hazy, cinematic world of sound where softness and intensity coexist. Led by Kat’s delicate, whisper-like vocals and Andi’s immersive songwriting and production, their music drifts between dream pop, psychedelia, and aching nostalgia. It is a sound that lingers, pulling listeners into something both deeply personal and quietly overwhelming.

Since their debut in 2019, the duo has built a global following drawn to the emotional honesty in their work. Their first album, There’s Nothing But Pleasure, became a refuge for listeners searching for comfort and release, while their second album, We Should’ve Killed Each Other, dives deeper into themes of loneliness, love, and quiet despair. The release led them to stages across Asia, Europe, and North America, including major music festivals, expanding their reach and connection with audiences worldwide.
