Born and raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Ariella’s lifelong passion for music has been a driving force in her journey. Following her high school graduation, she embarked on an artistic adventure at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). There, she immersed herself in a dynamic community that nurtured her creativity and inspired her to push the boundaries of her musical expression. Ariella’s experiences at CalArts, particularly her transformative sound art classes, allowed her to blend sound art with her folk-rock roots, resulting in a unique and authentic musical voice.
Ariella’s debut album, CryBaby, is a poignant exploration of life’s emotional depths, drawing from personal experiences like heartbreak, evolving friendships, and the loss of her father. Each track resonates with vulnerability, earning her the moniker ‘CryBaby’ for her raw honesty and emotional candor. The album immerses listeners in Ariella’s life experiences, weaving a tapestry of emotions that reflect the resilience and beauty found in life’s most tumultuous moments. Influenced by a diverse array of artists such as Lomelda, Pinegrove, Slow Pulp, James Taylor, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Brian Eno, Ariella’s music is a rich blend of styles and sounds. A pivotal chapter in her musical evolution unfolded during her year-long residence in Nashville, Tennessee, where she immersed herself in the city’s rich folk music scene. This period added a new dimension to her music, marked by poignant storytelling and acoustic harmonies. Looking ahead, Ariella is determined to push boundaries, blend genres, and share her unique sound with the world.
